- Deuteronomy is Moses’ last sermon before he died. Moses preaches to all the people of Israel, on a mountain outside the promised land of Canaan. Moses aimed to encourage the people of Israel to faithful obedience. This sermon has the same aim for us. It is to encourage us to be faithful and obey God.
