- Galatians is a passionate, combative part of Scripture, one that is strikingly contemporary because it deals with a heresy which, in one form or another, is always with us. Salvation by ritual or character is a modern form of the 1st-century denial of the gospel which Paul confronts and demolishes. David Campbell opens up this letter in a most attractive and helpful way. His exposition is clear and the applications both challenging and encouraging. He deals with ‘new perspectives’ on Paul, not by analysing their errors but by stating and defending the truth which they call into question. This is pastoral wisdom. A timely and useful book.
